Happy Easter

Easter, A time for new birth.
Eggs dyed naturally by the chickens.
The softness of the light.
Easter, A time for Spring delights.
Flowers begin to shine.
It is time to sing with the beginning of longer days.

Easter is coming,
Spring is on its way
Hens getting ready
For eggs to lay

Flowers all growing,
Bright and tall
Little lambs born,
Fluffy and small

A time for hope
And a time for prayer
New beginnings
And warmer air

The Easter bunny
And chocolate treats
Egg rolling, hunts
And lots of sweets!

Happy Easter to you, dear friends!

Texture

Not to long ago I read about this beautiful beach in Sunset Magazine.
I determined that the next time I was in the area I would do a bit of beach combing.
It was said you could find sea glass here, but all I found were pebbles.
As you see, I wasn't the only one in search of special treasures.
I had a peak in one of the bags and did see some beauties there.

Reading the book, The Practice of Contemplative Photography, I was
on to the chapter about texture.  Don't you agree?  I found texture here in abundance.

I fell in love with this beach and know I will return when the sun is warmer.
There was a bit of snow on the ground, brrr!
But even with the cold, I loved this beach.

Tidbits of San Francisco

One final look at my visit to San Francisco.
Now I can look back and smile at the memories.
There was three full days of play in the sunshine.
Wonderful food.
A ride on the cable car.
Loved my rides on the bus.
Tea
Ferry Building
Palace of Fine Arts
ducks
water
and most of all
a celebration in the sun.
It makes turning an age so worth looking forward to.

I hope where you are you can celebrate just being you
whether the sun is shining or not.
Happy weekend, dear friends!

Tea at Chariteas

What a treat to share my birthday with friends and tea at Chariteas.
Chariteas is a tearoom in nearby Sandy, Oregon,
just heading up the mountain to Mt. Hood.

Steph of Steph's Cup of Tea is in the middle, with her mom, Linda, on the right.
Steph and I both share March birthdays and thought this was the perfect way to celebrate.

Happy Birthday, Steph!

It was a special way to celebrate with
tea
cucumber, chicken salad, and salmon sandwiches
yummy salad with oranges and toasted nuts
scones and cream
and sweet goodies

When you celebrate, what makes your day extra special?

Reflections and Peace

A place of peace, a time for reflection and serenity.
The entrance to the Japanese Tea Gardens in San Francisco.
The place where I had dreamed of spending some quiet time on my journey.

Stepping into the morning light I first spotted the tea house sitting among the trees.
Yes, a small pot of Sencha Green tea was enjoyed here.

The walk was a precious time for me.
There were few people there in the early morning.

A time for reflection.

A time to remember past visits here.
The first time I visited here was with my grandmother, oh so long ago.
The gardens have grown up and blossomed in their beauty since then.

The morning light was pure delight!
The time alone was precious!

The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen

As if by Magic!

As if by Magic
Spring has appeared
As if by Magic
My heart begins to sing
As if by Magic
The sun begins to shine
As if by Magic
I feel the warmth in the air
As if by Magic
There is laughter in the air
As if by Magic
Dancing is everywhere

Celebrate the coming of Spring
Notice what you notice
