Kindness in Candles

 My favorite gift shop in Portland has been The Arrangement on N.E. Fremont at 48th for many years;
so when they started a Facebook page I "liked".
About 2 weeks ago they posted a picture of beautiful candles
and I commented that they were "beautiful".
The company rep for the candle company saw my comment and offered to
send me a sample candle.  I was thrilled.
The package arrived at my door last Friday and I was stunned.
There were 6 gorgeous candles in the box.
Remember how I said just recently that I burn candles in winter
to have light through the darkness of the season?
Well I will be burning beautiful candles that speak of the coming of spring.
Aren't the colors lovely, they look like springtime and sorbet.
Yes, my theme this week is "kindness" and these candles sent
last week were full of "kindness".
To pay it forward I will send one of the pear candles to one reader.
All you need to do is leave a comment on this post before next Monday.
Sorry, but I won't be able to send this give-away internationally,
this one is for US residence only.
Note:  If you are unable to leave a comment, but would like to be included
in the drawing, email me at:  marilyn tea at gmail dot com
and I will add you.

The candle company is Vance Kitira International.
They are made in Thailand.
They are 100% fully refined paraffin wax and water clear when poured.
They are actually deemed food grade!
Wicks are 100% cotton US made.
Their dyes come from Germany resulting in a beautiful candle with long burn times.

If you follow the link on the website to the retail sight,
then find the store locator, you can find a store near you.
If in Portland, OR. you can definitely find them at The Arrangement.

Wasn't that nice of the candle company! Your display is pretty and the pears are a unique shape.
I can't enter your draw since I live in Canada but I know someone will be very happy to win one of the pears.

These are just stunning candles -- beautiful colors and shapes. I am impressed beyond words at their generosity in both sending "a" candle and then sending so many lovely ones. It's good business, but extremely generous. I am going to see if they have any locations near me. Thanks for the link.

Such a pleasingly soft colorful array of candles - and how generous of you to share! Facebook can be fun sometimes - I 'won' a copy of a tea book a few years ago after leaving a comment on a photo. Such fun surprises!

What a lovely thing! I am glad they sent them to you! I cannot enter as I am in Australia, the postage would probably be huge!

Good luck to everyone! :)

Hi Marilyn, I love your post and love candles. I have never been to the shop you mentioned. I would love to be entered in your give away. I think we might have the same red transferware teapot that I see in your header. I have been doing several posts on my blog about my collecting red transferware.

Karen Van Hoy said: HI Marilyn - I wasn't able to post on your blog, so here is my comment: Isn't it wonderful when businesses practice random acts of kindness? Sometimes we think of businesses as being "corporate" when they're made up of people just like us that put their pants on one leg at a time.

I also enjoy lighting candles around the house. It creates such a calming atmosphere. I'm always on the look out for lead free wick candles. Please include me in the giveaway and thank you for returning this generous act.
