Holland Windmills

When you hear the name Netherlands or Holland tell me,
does your thoughts go to windmills?
Mine does, so I needed to see them.
With a short train ride from Amsterdam we arrived at Zaanse Schans.
The village was quaint, yes it was!
But I was here for the windmills.
It was a gorgeous, warm day.
The perfect day to stroll.

There was even a cheese house,
after all the Netherlands is also known for good cheese.

Sheep grazed nearby.
In the field there were mama's with their ducklings.
Not easy to see, but they were there.
If you ever make it to Amsterdam add this stop to your list.
It was a delightful day spent among windmills,
each one so picture perfect.

This looks like a wonderful stop! My windmill place was Kinderdijk -- but it was a bit of a drive from Amsterdam. This looks much closer. What a perfect sky!
